How can I get through this area?
1 of 10: Remember that antlions aren't able to approach an active thumper.
2 of 10: While Alyx and the vort cover you, sprint for the nearest thumper.
3 of 10: Have the gravity gun out and ready to blast any antlions that get directly in your way.
4 of 10: After you and your companions make it to the first thumper, check for supplies near a large rock with a small boat next to it.
5 of 10: Also, look ahead and to the right of the next thumper to find two supply crates underneath the remains of a wooden ramp. With the vortigaunt covering you, you should be able to pull the crates in without getting injured.
6 of 10: When you're ready, sprint over to the next thumper and raid its supply crate.
7 of 10: Watch out for antlion workers to start spawning now. You might want to throw some of the nearby explosive barrels at them to help kill them quickly.
8 of 10: Or you might prefer to run for the third thumper right away, since it has much better protection around it. (The little three-wall shelter is particularly safe.)
9 of 10: There are two boarded-over mine tunnel entrances on either side of the area past the third thumper.
10 of 10: As you approach the one on the right, the antlion guardian will break out of it and attack.
