Antlion and Zombie Combat Tips

  • 1 of 9: Since they're fighting each other, and Alyx will be shooting them too, you don't really have to do anything.
  • 2 of 9: But it's a lot more fun to use the gravity gun to pick up and throw the nearby red explosive canisters to blow up enemies.
  • 3 of 9: There's a zombie lying around near the steps you go down, so watch out for him.
  • 4 of 9: You could let Alyx shoot him for you, or you could use the gravity gun and the nearby wooden crate to kill him for some achievement credit. (See the Achievements list.)
  • 5 of 9: After that zombie's dead, move ahead slowly, looking for zombies in and around the giant floor hole.
  • 6 of 9: After they're dead, you can go down into the floor hole, but all you'll find is another zombie and some red canisters and chunks of rubble that you can use as gravity gun projectiles.
  • 7 of 9: The main battle is in the area outside, but it's also very easy to handle.
  • 8 of 9: Either throw explosive containers out there from inside the tunnel, or just wait for Alyx to shoot down the survivors for you.
  • 9 of 9: WARNING: There's a zombine out there with a live grenade in his hand. Either keep your distance from him to avoid damage, or pull the grenade in with the gravity gun and throw it back at him. (Note that grabbing his grenade is also one of the above-mentioned achievements.)
