Big Soldier Combat Tips
1 of 20: While standing near the ladder top, look down the corridor you're about to walk down.
2 of 20: There are two explosive canisters down there that you should pull over with the gravity gun.
3 of 20: There's also an explosive barrel on the left just past the doorway.
4 of 20: It may help if you went back down the ladder and got a couple more explosive items to add to your stash.
5 of 20: Grab one of them and move forward when you're ready.
6 of 20: Go quickly to the first corridor opening on the left and throw your explosive at the soldier who's coming toward you.
7 of 20: Run back to your explosive stash and grab another one, ready to throw it at the two soldiers who may appear from the other corridor opening down there.
8 of 20: If they don't appear, they'll be standing around near the junction of the two corridors, where the sentry turret is.
9 of 20: Another way to handle this is to go forward far enough to get the flare dropped in front of you, then immediately turn around and drop down to the walkway below this one. Wait under the pipes with your shotgun out for soldiers to drop down in front of you.
10 of 20: When you're ready to deal with the turret, quickly run past the first corridor opening on the left and approach the next one.
11 of 20: If you run around the corner and toward the turret fast enough, you can blast it with the gravity gun and send it flying before it can shoot you.
12 of 20: Moving on past that, you'll come to a spot where the corridor branches again.
13 of 20: Down the left branch is another turret. You can either take it out now by throwing the nearby skinny red canisters at it, or you can skip it until later.
14 of 20: As you go down the other corridor, two soldiers will appear at its other end and start firing at you.
15 of 20: You can either have explosives ready to throw at them, or you can pull in the wooden crate that's in the corridor and hold it in front of you as you walk toward the soldiers (and then throw it at them when you get close).
16 of 20: When you enter the flooded room past that corridor and turn left, you'll see three more soldiers and a sentry turret in the doorway at the other end of the room.
17 of 20: You could take them down (with the exception of the turret) from a distance with the pistol or .357, but the best way is to stockpile explosives nearby before you enter the flooded room. That way, you can hurl the explosives at the soldiers and turret from a safe distance.
18 of 20: After they're down, search the flooded room for supplies, then go knock over the turret that's on the raised walkway to the left if you didn't get it before. (It's the one at the end of the side corridor that was mentioned above.)
19 of 20: There'll probably be at least one soldier still alive in the room past the flooded room, so shoot him down while staying as far back from the doorway as you can.
20 of 20: Have the pistol out as you approach the doorway so you can shoot the explosive barrel at the top of the big ramp as a soldier approaches it. (If you don't blow the barrel up, the soldier will set it on fire and roll it down at you.)
