The Orange Box: Half-Life 2: Episode Two Hints
Strider #9 thru 13 Tips
of 19: As soon as Strider #8 goes down, drive to supply building 1 or 2 and grab any health and armor you need, plus another sticky bomb for your car rack.
of 19: Since Strider #10 appears near the sawmill without any hunters to escort him, drive down there next.
of 19: Drive around to the spot NE of the mill where the strider will drop down from on higher ground.
of 19: Park there, get out of the car, and grab the sticky bomb. Then hide by crouching down next to the large drop-off.
of 19: When the strider nears the drop-off, stand up and throw the sticky bomb at him, then quickly shoot it to blow it up.
of 19: By the time you get back in your car, Strider #9 will have chosen its route, which will either be toward the train tracks or around to supply building #4.
of 19: Whichever way it's going, drive around so that you get behind it, then take down its hunters as quickly as you can. (Or if it's going toward the sawmill, you might want to assault the hunters from there.)
of 19: Getting out of the car and using pulse rifle energy orbs is a good solution if you have at least two of those. RPG rockets also work well, since two direct rocket hits will kill an undamaged hunter, even on the highest difficulty level.
of 19: If you'd rather ram them, then park the car a ways back, shoot a hunter a couple of times with the pistol to lure them to you, then get back in the car and have at 'em.
of 19: As soon as both of them are dead, drive back to the sawmill. Strider #11 and its two hunters should be about there, and Strider #12 is about to appear with one hunter at point B.
of 19: Taking down Strider #11's two hunters is your top priority. It may be too dangerous to try to run them over, so park a bit back from the strider and start shooting its hunters.
of 19: Try to take them both down before the base sounds the alarm, which it will do when Strider #9 starts approaching it.
of 19: Get back in the car and drive south along the train tracks, carefully dodging Strider #11's legs as you go. (Or if that's too much trouble, drive down the passage that leads south from the sawmill to supply building #3.)
of 19: Drive as quickly as you can to the base area, then over to supply building 1 or 2, whichever the strider is farthest from.
of 19: Get out of the car and grab a sticky bomb from the building's dispenser port, then go kill the strider with it quickly.
of 19: Strider #11 will now probably be nearing the base, so stay there and sticky-bomb it when it gets close enough.
of 19: The final two striders and their hunter escorts will probably be near enough to the base's perimeter by now that you might as well stay at the base to fight them.
of 19: Run ahead and see if you can take down the hunters before the striders reach the point where they trigger the perimeter alarm. Use any remaining rockets, pulse rifle energy orbs, and SMG grenades that you have, then back off a bit and use the .357 and pulse rifle if needed to finish them.
of 19: If you get the hunters soon enough, sticky-bombing both striders before they can blow up the rocket should be pretty easy.
