Antlion Combat Tips

  • 1 of 6: After you bash through the web, head toward the large group of regular antlions.
  • 2 of 6: You can finish them off extremely quickly with the SMG grenade that you got from the web cache in the previous section, but you'll probably want to save that.
  • 3 of 6: Wait for the vortigaunt to zap the group, then quickly finish them off with the gravity gun, shotgun, or whatever. (Note that you'll probably have to start dodging poisonous spit at this point.)
  • 4 of 6: As for the antlion workers, you could try to shoot them with the .357 or some rocks thrown with the gravity gun, but it's probably easier to just dodge their spit until the vortigaunt can zap them all.
  • 5 of 6: The vort isn't invincible, so if any antlions close to melee with him, quickly hit them with the gravity gun or shotgun.
  • 6 of 6: Thankfully, the vort regenerates health over time. After the battle is over, you might want to stand around and let him heal before you move on.
