Half-Life 2 Hints
I can't find anywhere much to go after the bent fencing.
of 8: You need to turn your flashlight on and look carefully around for a small floor-level opening.
of 8: You'll find an open vent shaft with a large lambda symbol painted over it.
of 8: Ready your crowbar and crouch down to enter the shaft.
of 8: Bash the supply crate and the grate covering at the other end in order to get through the shaft and back onto the walkways.
of 8: COMBAT TIP: If you skipped shooting all the cops across the way while going for the vent shaft, they'll start appearing at a small gap in the blue wall that's almost directly across from the shaft's exit. Back up in the shaft so that you can only see their legs, then shoot them down without them being able to shoot you at all.
of 8: Soon after that, you can drop down onto the train tracks in a spot past one of the blue force fields that was stopping you from coming this way earlier.
of 8: SAFETY TIP: Carefully fall onto the wooden pallet that's leaning against the wall down near the tracks in order to avoid taking damage from the fall.
of 8: BACKTRACKING NOTE: After you fall down to the tracks past the force field, you can't go back to previous areas anymore, so make sure you've gone and gotten all the ammo you can from dead cops (some of which will be down on the ground next to the train tracks on that side of the force field). If you need health, go visit the health station that's near where the chapter started. If you need armor, return to the train yard area from the end of the previous chapter, shoot down any nearby cops, and then wait for scanners to come to you. (You can pile up stuff to get back over the fence, but it's not worth the trouble.)
