Half-Life 2 Hints
As I drove across the bridge, I ran into an oncoming train!
1 of 7: Maybe you should have read the train schedule more carefully.
2 of 7: Since there isn't one, you'll just need to restore your save and use what you learned to do better next time.
3 of 7: Unfortunately, just waiting behind the stopped train on the left track isn't going to work. That evil train is waiting for you to speed toward it!
4 of 7: One way to get past it is to turbo all the way down the track so that you pass the front of the stopped train before the oncoming train does. Then you can swerve left and fly off the tracks before you collide. (You'll probably crash and overturn, but you should be able to handle that by now.)
5 of 7: Another way is to go forward slowly and do a handbrake stop, then quickly turn and turbo-speed back the other way when you first hear the oncoming train's whistle. After it passes, you can turn back around and go along its track.
6 of 7: Or actually, if you progressed along the track slowly enough, you could just throw 'er in reverse the instant you hear the oncoming train's whistle and easily make it back past the stopped train in time. Most players who hate driving the jeep would probably find this to be the easiest way.
7 of 7: On second thought, the very easiest way would be to park the jeep out of the way and then go forward along the tracks on foot until the train passes by. You don't even have to run back around the end of the stopped train -- just scrunch up against it to avoid being run over. After the moving train is gone, go back to the jeep and drive on.
