Half-Life 2 Hints

How can I get past the next few force fields?

  • 1 of 12: Mainly by taking side walkways that lead past them.
  • 2 of 12: From the stairs with the health station and hidden armor battery, head down the walkway to find some more stairs to climb.
  • 3 of 12: Some cops will appear on the left as you approach these stairs, but it's best to just run on ahead and ignore them.
  • 4 of 12: Ready the crowbar and keep running along until you come to a small walkway that goes over the tracks.
  • 5 of 12: Once again, there are some cops nearby that you could take the time to shoot down, but it's best to ignore them and quickly bash the stack of wooden crates that's blocking your way.
  • 6 of 12: Keep going until you come to a spot where you can drop down onto the tracks again.
  • 7 of 12: There will be blue force fields in both directions, and several cops in the distance behind each force field.
  • 8 of 12: Quickly run for the little niche on the other side of the tracks that contains a health station and some supply crates.
  • 9 of 12: Grab what you want there at top speed, then find the damaged metal catwalk that's in a side area just past the supply niche.
  • 10 of 12: The door at the other end of the catwalk is unopenable, so you'll have to drop down into the canal below.
  • 11 of 12: If you move fast enough in getting the supplies and dropping into the canal, the cops won't be able to shoot you much if at all, and many of them will be run over by the train that zooms by.
  • 12 of 12: TIP: If you want to stay and kill off the cops, stand on the small concrete ledge that's next to the damaged metal catwalk. That will trigger the train's appearance, and it'll kill most of the cops for you, leaving only one or two for you to finish off. Then you can go back and get more armor and health from the niche if you need to before dropping into the canal.
