Half-Life 2 Hints

As soon as I got past the guard room, another antlion guard appeared!

  • 1 of 6: Then it's time to start another search for gimmicks and secret strategies.
  • 2 of 6: Notice that the antlion guard is initially preoccupied with several combine soldiers.
  • 3 of 6: You could quickly bombard the creature with RPG rockets, SMG grenades, and/or crossbow bolts to take him down quickly.
  • 4 of 6: Or, before you leave the guard room, you could set up a sentry gun in a position to kill the thing for you.
  • 5 of 6: But by far the quickest and easiest way is to look around for a means of speedy escape.
  • 6 of 6: NOTE: If you kill the antlion guard one way or another, you can go back into his area and pick up all the guns that soldiers dropped. (Though watch out for your sentry gun if you set one up -- toss an explosive barrel up to the window break to knock it over.)
