Half-Life 2 Hints
How can I get at the contents of that crate?
of 11: Park the airboat near the steps that lead up to the concrete landing platform.
of 11: Climb a small ladder at the other end of the landing and then go up some stairs to get up next to the barn. (Note that you can see a truck and some houses past a fence, but you can't ever get to them.)
of 11: Go around to the large open front side of the barn, where two zombies will shamble forward and throw stuff at you if you don't take cover.
of 11: After you've dealt with them, run up the partially wrecked stairs in the back.
of 11: Carefully crouch-walk your way across the boards and beams.
of 11: WARNING: Avoid the trap where it looks like you should hop to a short board with a wooden crate on its other end. (If you try, it'll drop you and the crate will land on you.) Instead, go around and bash the crate when you get to it while on a sturdy beam.
of 11: Keep going until you reach the ladder that goes up into the attic. (Watch out for the headcrab that drops down and attacks as you approach the ladder.)
of 11: There you'll find the crane's big gear stuck in its current position by a barrel.
of 11: Whack the barrel with the crowbar to get it out of the way.
of 11: That will drop the crate into the water below, scattering the supplies.
of 11: Dive down into the water to retrieve them, being careful not to land on anything solid if you jump from all the way up in the barn's attic.
