Hiding Strategy
1 of 5: The main idea of this "strategy" is to hide somewhere so that the soldiers can't see you at all, and then wait all the way through Alyx's series of messages.
2 of 5: You can hide in any number of ways and places. For instance, you can hide in an open prison cell by crouching behind two crates stacked in the doorway.
3 of 5: You can also hide up on a balcony (see the Balcony Perch Strategy for info on how to get onto a balcony), or you can set up some crates and barrels around a spot next to the infinite SMG ammo crate and quickly jump over the ammo crate and into that spot after placing the last sentry gun. (In this case, you *must* stay crouched and have no gaps in your cover.)
4 of 5: To keep all the soldiers from appearing, you not only have to hide, you have to keep any of the soldiers from being shot, so don't place any sentry guns to where they can shoot anything. Either knock them all over or just drop them back in their storage containers facing the back wall.
5 of 5: After Alyx says that she's going to catch up with you, pop out of hiding and kill the only two soldiers who bothered to show up, and that's it!
