Half-Life 2 Hints
Water Tank Strategy
1 of 7: As soon as you get the shotgun, figure out how to move on from the rooftop you're on.
2 of 7: Jump into the water tank and climb up its ladder, but don't go up the next ladder.
3 of 7: Instead, crouch-walk along the water tank's rim until you're standing on the side opposite the ladder.
4 of 7: Fast zombies will have a very hard time getting to you in that position, and some may fall into the water tank while trying (which makes them very easy targets).
5 of 7: You need to watch out for fast zombies landing on the boards on the other side of the water tank and then leaping at you. That can knock you down to the ground, so always immediately shoot any fast zombie that lands over there (or always stay crouched).
6 of 7: An even better way is to position yourself near the top of the water tank's ladder, so that your head is about even with the ladder top. That way, any fast zombies who land on the nearby boards will just stand there, easy targets for crowbar-whacking, and any zombies who land in the water tank will also just stand there, ripe for a .357 slug or shotgun blast.
7 of 7: Look around and shoot all the fast zombies you can before you move on past the water tank.
