Barricading Strategy
1 of 6: Earlier on, before you drop down from the rooftops and find the small fence with the break in it, go back to the headcrab attic and some of the previous rooms to find some large furniture and crates.
2 of 6: Use the gravity gun to take at least two of these items outside and drop them down onto the street near the small railing break before you drop down there.
3 of 6: After you do, stack the items against the base of the red drain pipe that's just across the street from the railing.
4 of 6: Then when you're up on the roof waiting for the cart, stand right next to the top of that drain pipe to make sure the first two zombies go for it and not the other one.
5 of 6: They'll get stuck trying and failing to climb the barricaded drain pipe, and the rest of them will never appear at all!
6 of 6: ALTERNATIVE: If you have Dog's ball, you could skip the furniture and just drop the ball down to the base of either drain pipe after you're up on the roof. But be warned that it's a pain to retrieve the ball if you want it back later. (You can use the gravity gun to pull it in from up on the roof, but it'll be hard.)
