Half-Life 2 Hints
Rocket Ammo Tips
1 of 7: One very useful tip is to quicksave after every successful rocket hit and quickrestore after every miss. That way you'll only need the minimum number of rockets for your difficulty level.
2 of 7: When you run out of rockets, run to one of the spots scattered about the base where you can find some spare rockets.
3 of 7: Note that most rockets and health kits are inside buildings, which also provide cover for you while you're going for them.
4 of 7: Also, resistance members will occasionally run up to you and hand you some rockets. Due to this, you don't actually *have* to go ammo-hunting -- you can just take up position somewhere that offers a lot of cover, fire off all your rockets, wait for more to come to you, and so on. (Things will go a lot slower this way, though.)
5 of 7: A better way is to plan ahead and stockpile.
6 of 7: Before you go see Cubbage and get the RPG, go around and gather all the rockets you can find and drop them on the top floor of Cubbage's building (or wherever you want to rocket the gunship from).
7 of 7: You should end up with a pool of eight or so spare rockets. (Also, you might want to carry a few health packs to your chosen spot just in case you need them.)
