Gas Station Combat Tips

  • 1 of 8: To start with, you may be tempted to assassinate at least one Combine soldier from the grassy knoll where you get the crossbow, but don't -- you can easily shoot them with the tau cannon later.
  • 2 of 8: So as soon as you get the crossbow and the supplies near it, get in the jeep and drive over toward the force field.
  • 3 of 8: As you approach, use the zoom feature and tau cannon to shoot down the Combine soldier who's on the ground near the right end of the force field, plus the one who's up on the big "petrol" sign.
  • 4 of 8: There's another soldier on the ground a bit further back, but he'll start running when you start shooting, and you may not be able to get him before he ducks into a building. That's okay -- you'll get him soon.
  • 5 of 8: Park the jeep near the force field, then get out on foot and pass the force field on its right side.
  • 6 of 8: If any soldiers appear and attack, run back for the jeep and back it up a bit, then use the zoom-shoot method for taking them down.
  • 7 of 8: You can repeat the previous two steps until all the soldiers are dead, or you can go around throwing explosive barrels at them, or whatever you like.
  • 8 of 8: NOTE: There are two rollermines on the ground to the right of the red shed that's next to the big "petrol" sign. Either avoid their area or throw them into the ocean with the gravity gun.
