Soldier Combat Tips
1 of 5: Go halfway up the stairs and throw some bugbait through the big doorway you can see at the top of the stairs.
2 of 5: Wait under cover while antlions rush in, killing soldiers and setting off laser tripmines for you.
3 of 5: Move a short way into the area past the stairs and look ahead to see if there's still a laser tripmine near the other end. If so, toss some bugbait over there to get an antlion to blow the tripmine for you.
4 of 5: Then run forward until you can toss some bugbait at the upstairs mounted gun (or the stairs just behind it) so that your antlions will already be there when a soldier appears and goes for the gun.
5 of 5: If the soldier makes it to the gun, run up right under it so he can't shoot down at you, then carefully manuever to where you can shoot him in the head or hit him with bugbait.
