Half-Life 2 Hints
Combat Tips
1 of 8: First, use the gravity gun to pull in the explosive barrel that you can see past the next doorway. You'll want to set it aside and save it for later.
2 of 8: Stay behind the open double doors and toss some bugbait ahead to clear out the tripmine and soldiers that are just ahead and to the left.
3 of 8: When the antlions act like they're done, move forward and cautiously turn the corner.
4 of 8: Toss some bugbait ahead, then retreat back past the double doors again. There are probably still some soldiers lurking around out there.
5 of 8: When it seems safe, move on into the next area, but watch out for the two sentry guns down the short dead-end on the right.
6 of 8: Your antlions probably won't be able to take down these sentries, which is why I advised you to save that explosive barrel earlier.
7 of 8: After saving your game, get the barrel and throw it at the sentry guns. If they don't both get knocked over by the explosion, restore your save and try again. It's very helpful to get these pests out of the way now.
8 of 8: Watch for a soldier or two hiding in the long, narrow storeroom that's just past the sentry gun area, plus several laser tripmines along the corridor just past the storeroom.
