What about the next gate? Alyx says it's jammed.
1 of 6: She says to head back to the office, so do.
2 of 6: Once you're in it, she mentions a vent behind some shelves.
3 of 6: There are a couple of light blue wooden shelves along one wall.
4 of 6: Move them by either bashing them with the crowbar or blasting them out of the way with the gravity gun.
5 of 6: And there's your vent shaft! Remove its covering and crouch-walk into it.
6 of 6: NOTE: You could go straight for the office and the shaft without going down to the closed gate and waiting for Alyx's advice.
