1 of 2: If you have a sentry gun with you, set it up to face the second barred gate (the one near the stairs leading up), then stand back while it shoots the soldiers for you.
2 of 2: If you don't have a sentry gun, run up the stairs and shoot down at the soldiers from a higher vantage point.
