Half-Life 2 Hints
Barney said to pile up stuff to get to some window. Where and how?
1 of 9: There are two windows near the upper ledge in the storage room that Barney hurries you into.
2 of 9: Use the small ladder to get up onto the ledge, then examine the two windows.
3 of 9: One of them has bars covering it, so Barney must have been referring to the other one.
4 of 9: You can't jump that high, and Gordon doesn't know how to grab onto the ledge and pull himself up, so you'll have to do as Barney suggested.
5 of 9: Pile some crates in front of the window to form a makeshift staircase.
6 of 9: You could drop a crate on the floor in front of the window, drop another crate on top of that one, and then drop a third crate on the floor in front of the two-crate stack. That's what we call a 2-1 crate staircase.
7 of 9: Jump onto the lower crate, and from there jump onto the upper crate.
8 of 9: Then crouch-walk through the window and drop down in the next area.
9 of 9: ALTERNATIVE: Just drop one of the large wooden crates on the floor next to the open window, then jump onto the crate and then through the window.
