Soldier Combat Tips

  • 1 of 8: As odd as it may sound, you'll want to send your squad back into the safety of the room you dropped down in (especially if you have a full squad of four people). That's because there's a spot later on where you can pick up new people if you lose some, but you can't get back to a full squad of four.
  • 2 of 8: With your squad safely tucked away, get out your shotgun and turn to face down the dark hallway.
  • 3 of 8: With your flashlight on to help you see, run past the first open doorway on the right and down to the second one.
  • 4 of 8: A soldier should come out of that second doorway as you approach it, plus one will appear ahead of you down the hall at about the same time.
  • 5 of 8: Quickly double-barrel them both for instant kills, then turn right at the second soldier and double-barrel another soldier who's standing near a doorway.
  • 6 of 8: While you're reloading, run through the doorway and into the far room, where one or two soldiers may be taking cover behind some furniture. If so, double-barrel them quickly.
  • 7 of 8: If Alyx isn't in that room with you, go out the nearest doorway and turn right -- there may be a soldier or two in the hall ahead of you concentrating on Alyx. Help her take them down, and that should be all for this floor.
  • 8 of 8: ALTERNATIVE: A slightly less dashing plan would be to proceed into the room with two open doorways, kill off the two soldiers who rush in through the room's back doorway, and then move into the next room and then the hallways beyond, shooting down soldiers as they appear (or hiding while Alyx does it for you).
