Combat Tips
1 of 14: As you round the corner past the metal double doors, be ready to quickly shotgun-blast a soldier who's standing near the bottom of the steps. (Either charge him or just wait until he walks up the steps facing the other way.)
2 of 14: Turn the flashlight on and look past the bottom of the steps to see if there are any headcrabs on the ground ahead. If so, quickly shoot them with the SMG or pistol.
3 of 14: Approach the railing that the soldier was shooting over to get several more soldiers to rappel down into the sandy canal below and fight the zombies.
4 of 14: Then get out your trusty crowbar and approach the corner past the railing cautiously.
5 of 14: There are several headcrabs off to the left, so let them see you and then quickly hide behind the corner and whack them as they appear in front of you.
6 of 14: A short way down the headcrabby passageway is a barnacle that you should kill with the crowbar.
7 of 14: Then look to the left to see a couple of wooden boxes and a barnacle tongue next to a drop-off that leads to the zombie-infested canal below.
8 of 14: Wait until the sounds of battle are over, then move or break the boxes and look into the canal carefully to see who survived.
9 of 14: If any soldiers did, quickly kill them with your pulse rifle or SMG. If any zombies survived, you can take your time and pick them off with whatever weapon you have the most ammo for.
10 of 14: NOTE: If you stand and wait at the edge of the drop-off next to the barnacle tongue, some zombies may stagger toward you and get caught in the barnacle's tongue. The barnacle won't chew on them long, but the zombies will be dead when they hit the ground!
11 of 14: While you're doing that, watch for a poison headcrab or two to walk along the pathway you can see (but can't yet reach) on the other side of the canal. When you see one, shoot it to death with the pistol.
12 of 14: When you're done there, continue along the formerly headcrab-infested passageway to find an armor battery near a dead body, and to see the last soldier in the area get nabbed by a barnacle just to the right.
13 of 14: Run up the stairs that the soldier was coming down and kill any poison headcrabs you see.
14 of 14: Then kill all the poison headcrabs that you don't see by bashing the long wooden beam that's in the small side niche with a dead body and supplies. (The headcrabs will all die from the fall, so there's no need to shoot them.)
