How can I get to the safety of this room?

  • 1 of 8: To start with, go up the rubble "ramp" just long enough to get the soldiers' attention, then run back down and hide in the parking area.
  • 2 of 8: Wait under cover near the rubble ramp for three soldiers to come running down the ramp after you. Quickly shoot them down as soon as you see them coming. (A Combine elite may on rare occasions come down, too.)
  • 3 of 8: NOTE: There are two more soldiers at the top of the wall that's directly across from the rubble ramp. Don't waste any time or ammo shooting them, since they respawn endlessly.
  • 4 of 8: If you have trouble getting all three soldiers to come after you, move along next to the wall that the above-mentioned two soldiers are on (so they can't see you and shoot you), then jump up and down in the corner so you can see up onto the ground-level path ahead.
  • 5 of 8: If the soldiers you can see on that path won't come to you, stay in the corner and shoot them with the .357 or pistol.
  • 6 of 8: When you've finally gotten all three of them, equip the shotgun and run up the rubble ramp again.
  • 7 of 8: Run along and kill only the soldiers that get right in your way (which should be zero) until you make it into some building remains and find the small room with supply crates in it -- that's your safe room.
  • 8 of 8: NOTE: It's okay if you took terrible damage on the way, since the supply crates will have lots of health and armor batteries if you're low.
