Half-Life 2 Hints

Armored Personnel Carrier (APC)

  • Health: 750
    Attack Damage: 5 per minigun bullet and 25 per missile strike
    First Seen: Route Kanal, Section 2 (first killable in Water Hazard, Section 6)

    APCs are heavily armored troop transports that have rocket launchers and miniguns installed on them. When they're firing at you, the usual tactic is to get by them as quickly as possible using speed and/or local cover. Later on, you'll be able to destroy APCs with vehicle-mounted guns such as the gauss gun that gets attached to the airboat in Water Hazard.
