The Hardy Boys: The Hidden Theft Hints

How about the muddy footprints near the utility shed? Are they important?

  • 1 of 11: These footprints are very important indeed!
  • 2 of 11: However, before they can be of any use, you're going to need to tie them to the thief.
  • 3 of 11: These footprints haven't come from feet. They come from whatever's being worn on the feet.
  • 4 of 11: A pair of boots, to be specific. Have you found the thief's boots yet?
  • 5 of 11: Have you found the thief's hideout?
  • 6 of 11: And, have you found the boots inside that hideout?
  • 7 of 11: They are hidden behind a vent in the hideout.
  • 8 of 11: Once you have found the boots, you can use them with the footprints. This will confirm that the prints were made by these very boots.
  • 9 of 11: However, that's not quite enough to prove it.
  • 10 of 11: The boots are caked in mud. Is there a way to prove that the mud on these boots came from here?
  • 11 of 11: You will be able to prove that, but not just yet. For now, take a sample of the mud from the floor with you.
