Half-Life: Blue Shift Hints
An alien slave broke the big catwalk I was walking on! What now?
1 of 11: I don't think you can make the jump all the way to the other side.
2 of 11: Although you probably can make it to the barnacle's infinitely long tongue.
3 of 11: You can jump to the tongue, wait until you're in crowbar range of the barnacle, and bash him.
4 of 11: As soon as you do, lean on the up arrow key to land on the nearby catwalk section.
5 of 11: From there, hop over the left railing to drop down onto a big pipe, and then onto the floor section you need to be on to continue.
6 of 11: There is another way across, though it doesn't get you any nice health packs like the barnacle method does.
7 of 11: From the edge of the break, look down and around.
8 of 11: You see those big pipes over to the left?
9 of 11: You can drop down onto the lower one.
10 of 11: Follow it along and jump onto some flooring when you can, then continue on to the big zombie-filled area.
11 of 11: That area and the one beyond it are fairly straightforward in design and are only challenging because of all the monsters you have to deal with.
