Half-Life: Blue Shift Hints
I eventually came to a lift that doesn't work. How do I turn it on?
1 of 5: There's a power source right nearby.
2 of 5: Enter the lift and face out of it, and you'll see it in the distance.
3 of 5: It's a power box marked "Generator Control."
4 of 5: Go flip its little switch, then take the elevator up to an area from which you can easily get to the canal area where you had a cargo lift lowered earlier.
5 of 5: If you didn't get the lift lowered earlier, you can jump in the canal and swim to the ladder and climb out, then go to the catwalks-and-ladders area and hit the lift button. Then you can get back in the canal and use the little lift near the grinders to get up to the explosives box quickly.
