Why is the computer voice glitchy and jerky?
1 of 3: Because your computer is.
2 of 3: I mainly had this problem if other things were running (especially MS-DOS programs).
3 of 3: Try exiting Blue Shift, closing everything else out, maybe rebooting the computer, and then rerunning Blue Shift. Unless you have a serious hardware or driver difficulty, that should do it.
