Half-Life: Opposing Force Hints
The retinal scanner has malfunctioned! How do I get into the next room?
1 of 10: What were you hoping for, a panacea? The scientist can only open one door for you successfully. The next one will kill him with an electrical discharge without opening.
2 of 10: Look around for a vent, a ladder, something.
3 of 10: The three aquariums on one of the walls each have their own ladder extending into them.
4 of 10: The bullchicken you met was previously contained in the center aquarium until he broke out.
5 of 10: You can crawl into the aquarium and climb the ladder up to the ceiling panels.
6 of 10: Deal with the four or five pit-drones up there. (Why not use the displacer to fire up at them from the bottom of the ladder? There are plenty of recharge packs nearby.)
7 of 10: Notice a crack in the wall? You can see into a parallel area above the ceiling panels. You need to get over there.
8 of 10: Start walking around on the ceiling panels.
9 of 10: Once they hear you, two pit-drones will break out, one from the floor above and one through the wall with the crack in it.
10 of 10: Deal with all of the remaining pit-drones and move towards the open vent in the one room.
