Half-Life: Opposing Force Hints
Where is the sniper fire coming from?
1 of 7: After you go through the room with the supplies and the marines standing around, you'll emerge in the big mega-rigged explosive area.
2 of 7: There are several Black Ops guys standing around up on the walls and fortifications, but the only one with an actual sniper rifle is on the exact opposite side of the area you exit the building to.
3 of 7: You probably won't see him because he's camouflaged. Just know that he's up there taking aim at you.
4 of 7: The entrance to the tower is on the right side of the field, but the boxes block your path there.
5 of 7: Start off running along the left wall and then cut across the sniper's line of sight once you can. Run into the tower and climb the ladder.
6 of 7: Toss a grenade in or just fight it out with the sniper. Be sure to grab his gun; it could be useful.
7 of 7: Note that you can use sneak-shooting practices (carefully shooting them when they can't see you) while fighting all the Black Ops guys in this area, or just boldly blast them with the alien sporelauncher. A direct spore hit will kill a Black Ops guy in one shot even on Difficult level.
