Half-Life: Opposing Force Hints
How do I cut the electricity that blocks my way past the downed Osprey?
of 15: You need to locate the source of the electricity.
of 15: The source of the electrified fence's power is not apparent anywhere near the downed helicopter, so begin looking elsewhere.
of 15: A tunnel opposite the helicopter has one of its doors partially open. It is possible for you to fit through.
of 15: Run into the tunnel, deal with whatever headcrabs you find, and run out the other side.
of 15: NOTE: You can jump-crouch into the hole in the wall that the headcrabs came out of to find an armor battery.
of 15: Some malfunctioning electrical generator hubs seem to be the problem. The question is, how do you turn them off?
of 15: The gate leading into the area with the electrical hubs is electrified, as a careless security guard finds out. You need to find another way in.
of 15: A nearby vent has been blown off, allowing you entrance into the air duct.
of 15: Follow the air duct along until you come to a fan. Another air duct is on the other side of the fan, but you will first have to deal with the electrical currents shooting off of the fan's axle.
of 15: Once past the fan, follow the duct along until you come to the vent at the end. Break through and step out into the electrical generator area.
of 15: Be careful not to touch anything. The fence is electrified and so are the electrical hubs.
of 15: Move around the hubs until you see a sign that says "Generator Controls" with a control switch nearby.
of 15: Pull the switch to cut the power.
of 15: Be sure to grab the Desert Eagle .357 off of the dead security guard.
of 15: The gate out of the electrical generator area and anything else that was previously electrified are now passable.
