Half-Life: Opposing Force Hints
How do I cut the power to the elevator?
of 9: You need to find the power controls for the elevator.
of 9: The only way you can go in the current situation is down the elevator shaft.
of 9: Once you reach the bottom of the shaft, use the elevator itself to get you onto the first floor.
of 9: You will have to find the door to the elevator and then climb up the elevator's ceiling vent to get on top of it. From there you can jump onto the first floor.
of 9: Getting to the power switch is quite straightforward.
of 9: You will have to slip around on some water, avoid a live-wire, and jump over some boxes, but eventually you will arrive at a room labelled Unit 2 Power.
of 9: The best way to get past the live wire room is to push the nearby yellow caution sign up next to the green box stack on the left and use it to jump-crouch up onto the boxes. Once you're on top of the stack, jump across the wet spot and onto the boxes on the other side. A couple of jump-crouches will get you past them, too.
of 9: Step inside, locate the lever on the control box, and pull it. You should hear the power shutting down.
of 9: Then use some other green boxes to jump-crouch your way back to the elevator, climb the ladders, then use the cable as a rope to get up to the upper elevator. (And do drop into it to find two armor batteries.)
