Half-Life: Opposing Force Hints
How do I get past the barricaded hallway and through the red double-doors?
of 20: In order to get past the barricade, you must exploit the open area right above the trash can.
of 20: That's the only way through. Unfortunately, it is too high to reach with a standard jump.
of 20: However, you can open a nearby door and grab the little metal box you used to get into the first air duct and move it in front of the trash can. (After moving it in front of another nearby vent grate and getting yourself yet another armor battery.)
of 20: Jump from the metal box over the trash can and into the area between the barricade and the red double-doors.
of 20: You will find the red double-doors locked.
of 20: Start looking around.
of 20: Once more, a vent leading into an air duct looks to be the best way out. However, once again, you cannot reach it.
of 20: You need to find something that will allow you to reach the vent.
of 20: So far, that little metal box has proven itself a decent stepping-stone.
of 20: You need to figure out a way to get the box inside the barricaded hallway.
of 20: When you first moved into this area, you should have heard a tripmine being placed. Try to locate that tripmine.
of 20: That tripmine is in a small office that is just right of the barricade.
of 20: You may have noticed that one of the doors to the office is blocked by a box.
of 20: An explosive box!
of 20: One of the windows has shattered as well. See what I'm getting at?
of 20: I bet that if you could pocket a grenade in that little office, you might trigger an explosive reaction that could open the doors for you. Try it.
of 20: Or try standing back and shooting the explosive crate through the window.
of 20: The doors are blown clean off and you have now blazed a trail for your trusty little metal box.
of 20: Move it over to the vent, break through, and climb into the air duct.
of 20: Follow the air duct along and hop out. You will have successfully circumvented the locked, red double-doors.
