The Hand of Fate Hints

Why won't this guard let me pass?

  • 1 of 16: It's his job to stop *anyone* who comes to the other side of the bridge.
  • 2 of 16: As he says, he'd even have to stop a snowman.
  • 3 of 16: Perhaps you should make a snowman, then.  You do have a potion after all.
  • 4 of 16: Both the snow and the moss are available on the same screen as the guard. You'll have to look around, but you should eventually be able to find some.
  • 5 of 16: Charcoal is the by-product of fires.
  • 6 of 16: Have you looked at the stones in the petrified forest?
  • 7 of 16: One is flint, which is very good for starting fires.
  • 8 of 16: But you'll need something to burn and something to spark the flint.
  • 9 of 16: Both are available on the bridge screen with the guard.
  • 10 of 16: Pick up a twig from the small tree/bush to the right of the bridge.
  • 11 of 16: And have you ever heard that a rolling stone gathers no moss?
  • 12 of 16: So a stone with no moss gathers a roll, or something like that.  Take two pieces of moss from the same rock, and then you can pick it up.
  • 13 of 16: Use the twig on the flint first, and then use the rolling stone on the two. You'll have the charcoal to make the potion.
  • 14 of 16: And you can find a flask to hold the potion in the hole that you created when you fell into this part of the game.
  • 15 of 16: You will need to put the snowman somewhere cold.  Look for a cold place near the guard and use the potion there.
  • 16 of 16: Just use the potion on the guard, and he'll leave you alone.
