Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper Hints

How can I get the blowtorch working?

  • 1 of 9: Try picking it up and clicking it on either of the two nozzles that are on the left ends of pipes. (One is to the left of the uppermost wheel, and the other is to the left of the lowest wheel.)
  • 2 of 9: When you do that, Holmes will probably say that the gas pressure there isn't high enough.
  • 3 of 9: Click the blowtorch back to its spot along the left side of the screen, then see about raising the gas pressure at one of the nozzles.
  • 4 of 9: Note that there are pressure gauge holes near each nozzle that you can use the gauge with to see how much gas pressure the nozzle is currently getting.
  • 5 of 9: Put the gauge in a hole near a nozzle and move the three wheels around to see how high you can get the gas pressure to be at that nozzle.
  • 6 of 9: You'll find that the highest pressure you can have at the top nozzle is 50. If you try the blowtorch on it, you'll see that isn't enough.
  • 7 of 9: Try the lower nozzle to see that you can get the pressure all the way up to 100 there.
  • 8 of 9: The way to do that is to move the top wheel ccw, the middle wheel cw, and the lower wheel ccw.
  • 9 of 9: Once you have a 100 reading on the gauge, click the blowtorch on the nearby nozzle to get it ready to weld.
