Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper Hints

Once I have Bluto's sack, how can I get it back to him?

  • 1 of 11: That would seem to be very straightforward. Just fast-travel to the pub and knock on Bluto's door.
  • 2 of 11: However, there are two obstacles to that. The first one is a doggie ... or, rather, a kitty ... in the window.
  • 3 of 11: Attempt to fast-travel, or walk over to the escape window, to get Holmes to notice the poor gas-sick kitten.
  • 4 of 11: You'll have to pick up the kitten before you're allowed to leave.
  • 5 of 11: Fast-travel to the pub, then select Bluto's bag in inventory and click on his door to learn what the second problem is.
  • 6 of 11: Holmes wants to switch the bag's contents with something of equal weight so he won't be aiding and abetting a criminal.
  • 7 of 11: Do you remember what Holmes said when he first picked up the bag?
  • 8 of 11: He said it seemed to contain metal dishes. Maybe you could replace the contents with something like that.
  • 9 of 11: Go back to the boarding house and check the scrapheap under the stairs.
  • 10 of 11: There are several rusted iron dishes under the stairs that you can pick up by clicking the hand cursor on the large, rusty water pot.
  • 11 of 11: Combine them with Bluto's bag in inventory to make the switch, then return to the pub and knock on Bluto's door with the bag selected.
