How many nurses are necessary?
1 of 2: To begin with, make sure that you have at least one nurse for each nurse-run room, one for the ward, one for the pharmacy, etc.
2 of 2: After that, I usually keep one extra nurse who just wanders around. This nurse is my backup in case of an emergency, epidemic, and so on. This nurse is also there in case one of the other nurses needs to use the staff room.
