Ico Hints

How can Yorda get to the idol doors?

  • 1 of 16: First, make sure Ico's near the idol doors, and then look around.
  • 2 of 16: Ico crossed a rather large gap by climbing a chain and then walking along an elevated walkway.  Yorda doesn't have the option of climbing the chain.
  • 3 of 16: Maybe you could move something in place across the gap itself.
  • 4 of 16: Look in the space below the elevated walkway that you crossed, and you'll see some sort of weight hanging there.
  • 5 of 16: Some switches in the area will move that weight into place.
  • 6 of 16: Look to the right of the idol doors.
  • 7 of 16: There's a switch on the wall in a raised section to the far right of the doors.
  • 8 of 16: Pulling that switch moves a chain that was previously to your right as you were facing the switch.
  • 9 of 16: See if the chain helps you in its new location.
  • 10 of 16: Climb back up onto the raised walkway and look around there.
  • 11 of 16: Go to the part of the walkway that's farthest from the weight and look straight ahead.
  • 12 of 16: The chain's halfway between the edge of the walkway and another section ahead.
  • 13 of 16: Take a running jump at the chain and start swinging the chain to get enough momentum to jump off to the other side.  It may help to slide down a tiny bit before jumping, too.  (Note: if you haven't saved in a while, it might be worthwhile to retrace your steps and take Yorda back to the couch to save.)
  • 14 of 16: Once you complete the jump, you'll end up next to another circular platform with a handle.
  • 15 of 16: Push the handle until you see a cut-scene showing the box moving away from the wall.
  • 16 of 16: Now, it's just a matter of retracing your steps back across the chain, getting Yorda, and taking her over the box to the idol doors.
