Ico Hints

I'm now near a waterfall area, but I can't open the gate to get there!

  • 1 of 11: Look to either side of the gate.
  • 2 of 11: There are switches on both sides of the gate.
  • 3 of 11: You should be able to reach the switch on the right side -- the path from the hanging cages will take you right there.
  • 4 of 11: The only way to get at the left switch is to swim.
  • 5 of 11: Unfortunately, the ladder on the left side looks like it's a little too short for you to reach it from water level.
  • 6 of 11: So you'll need to give yourself a bit of a boost to reach the bottom rung.
  • 7 of 11: The same way you always have whenever you've needed a boost.
  • 8 of 11: You can use a box, even in the water.  Just push it around the water with the CIRCLE key as usual.
  • 9 of 11: One's next to the switch.
  • 10 of 11: Push it over the edge of the platform into the water, then push or pull the box around the water while swimming.
  • 11 of 11: TRIANGLE, as usual, will get you onto the box.  Then climb the ladder and pull the switch to open the gate.
