Ico Hints

Where did my sword go?

  • 1 of 18: You may be able to find it looking around.  (The right analog stick is pretty much essential here, if you haven't already used it to look around before.)
  • 2 of 18: Remember that the sword protected you from the Queen's stoning waves.
  • 3 of 18: And it glowed blue when it did so.
  • 4 of 18: It will also glow blue even when you're not holding it.
  • 5 of 18: If you can't find the sword just by looking around, wait for the Queen to attack and look around then.  The telltale blue glowing will show you where the sword is.
  • 6 of 18: Look both in front of you and behind you.  If you still can't find it, read ahead for answers.
  • 7 of 18: The first time you lose it, it will be fairly close to the Queen, near the stairs closest to her throne.
  • 8 of 18: Look on the right side of the stairs, just near where they form a bit of an angle.
  • 9 of 18: After your second attack, look behind you.
  • 10 of 18: The sword will be on the left side of the room, at the back side of the main chamber here (i.e., where the room starts to narrow to go down a second set of stairs away from the Queen).
  • 11 of 18: Look ahead again on the third time.
  • 12 of 18: The sword is on the far left side of the stairs closest to the Queen, fairly close to the top of the stairs.
  • 13 of 18: The fourth time, you need to look to the side.
  • 14 of 18: Look to the wall on the left side of the chamber, more or less in the middle.
  • 15 of 18: The fifth attack will send the sword behind you.
  • 16 of 18: Way behind you.
  • 17 of 18: You'll need to look down the second set of stairs in this room, closer to the entrance.
  • 18 of 18: This one may be especially tough to get without getting turned to stone.
