Does it really matter if my mental health level drops?
Well, yes. A lot of bad things are going to happen to you in this game, and if you don't do anything to fight it, your mood will go from neutral to tense to stressed to anxious to depressed to overwrought to wrecked. If that happens, Lucas will either go insane or kill himself, and the cops will give up and quit the force. NOT a good career move -- and besides, it's game over. And there are some huge and unexpected mood drops that can't be avoided, and if your mood is only mid-level they'll do you in. The best strategy is to keep your mood at the very top as much as you can so you're ready for the surprises.
