Given that, is the American version really NC-17?
1 of 2: Not in my opinion, no. You see more blood and cruelty in the average FPS, and the bedroom scenes are less salacious than the average daytime soap opera.
2 of 2: That's not to say people under 16 or so will get the most out of it or even understand what's going on. The plot is complicated and adult; I wouldn't recommend it for kids, personally.
