When should I rest?
1 of 3: Whenever you're hurt and there aren't any monsters nearby.
2 of 3: No, really, you can whenever you want, for as long as you want. Time doesn't matter at all to any of the quests in this game (except one near the end, but you'll want to rest for a long time for that), so you can nap for years and nothing would change until you complete the dungeon.
3 of 3: A very helpful feature (in the game play options menu) is the option to always rest until healed. I strongly recommend you turn this on, as it will also automatically cast your healing spells and rememorize them.
