Is there anything interesting to do in the hidden gnome city?
1 of 6: Yep, there's a few things that you can get done here.
2 of 6: First, tell Beorn about how you've been helping out the gnomish resistance, and he'll let you by.
3 of 6: There's a shopkeeper named Nym who will sell you some birds and squirrels, which you can bring back, along with the bag of seeds found in Malavon's area, to the Arboretum in the Severed Hand for a bunch of XP.
4 of 6: Lastly, there's a druergar named Dirty Lew who will make a nice shield out of the Rhino Beetle shell you might have picked up.
5 of 6: If you didn't get the shell yet, the beetle is in the gnomish well -- it's pretty hard to miss.
6 of 6: You might as well agree. It will take him 10 days, so travel around the map doing stuff until it's done. You can also get it enchanted by Nym for a bunch of gold, which actually is worth it, since you don't have much else to spend gold on now. Just be sure you don't accept his original price, or the 33k gold with a dagger offer, as the dagger is only +2. It'll take another 10 days to enchant it, but it ends up as a very good shield.
