Icewind Dale Hints
Any tips for the final battle?
of 9: Well, first, note that any protections you had on have been Dispelled, so if you want any, be sure to cast them again after getting them Dispelled.
of 9: Casting Haste, as in most tough battles, is a good idea.
of 9: The Iron Golems that Belhifet summons are a bit of a pain, but you should have a bunch of weapons that can hurt them now, and if you're Hasted, you should be able to take them out pretty quickly.
of 9: You don't actually HAVE to kill the Iron Golems, but they can be a nuisance when trying to kill Belhifet.
of 9: Once you're ready to attack the big bad, don't hold back, and don't worry if some of your party members die, because it's almost impossible for some not to. You might even want to send in one of your Mages as cannon fodder once their useful spells are used up.
of 9: In melee, Belhifet is quite devastating, but that's really the only way to fight him. Hopefully you have a bunch of +5 weapons by now, so you should be able to deal a goodly bit of damage to him.
of 9: He'll deal massive amounts of damage, so some of winning this battle is reliant on luck, and having him not kill you in a few seconds, and having you actually hit him to start the battle.
of 9: Summoning some creatures can also be helpful, if only to distract him for a little bit.
of 9: Eventually, he'll fall, and you'll be treated to the ending cinematic, leaving plenty of room for a sequel.
