How can I use the northern exit without getting blasted?
1 of 7: You need to have two special items in your possession.
2 of 7: Two ward stones, to be exact.
3 of 7: You'll find them if you kill and loot all the monsters on this level.
4 of 7: The iron ward stone is on Gumph, a hobgoblin who's helping a bunch of orcs slaughter livestock near the livestock pen in the NE part of the area.
5 of 7: The black ward stone is on the taskmaster who's in the training grounds area in the SW part of the level.
6 of 7: If you have both stones, you can go up the stairs to the fortress courtyard without getting zapped.
7 of 7: Be sure to keep both ward stones in case you need to retreat to the warren to rest and heal.
