Icewind Dale II Hints
Notes and Extras
1 of 6: If you talk nice to the Mezro guys in the SE corner of the outdoor map and make it clear that you're the yuan-ti's enemies, they'll help you fight any yuan-ti that you lead back to their camp.
2 of 6: If you're willing to take some damage from a powerful trap, you can get some money and jewels from the Sseth idol in the crumbly little shrine in the center of the outdoor area.
3 of 6: To get past the giant fire floor trap in one of the rooms in the SW sector of the Serpent's Lair, you can either have each member of the party individually walk carefully around the perimeter of the room, or send your rogue out onto the burning floor to disarm the switch like a trap. The same goes for the acid floor room that's just east of the stairs.
4 of 6: On a table in the largest room in the SW section of the Serpent's Lair is an artifact called Poisonfang, a vampiric short sword, and a Protection from Acid scroll that might come in handy later on (against, say, a black dragon).
5 of 6: Ojaiha objects to you unlocking and opening his treasure chests, so if you're impersonating initiates, wait until he's left for the temple rituals to grab his treasures. (Note that you don't want to walk in on the rituals, or you'll be attacked.)
6 of 6: If you've been impersonating initiates, and are through with that and ready to kill some serpentmen, then talk to Jeszrael in the dining room to the south, then talk to a yuan-ti priest about Jeszrael, and finally talk to Ojaiha in his northern chamber about Jeszrael. You'll have the opportunity to try to dissuade Ojaiha from attacking Kuldahar further. You'll fail, but will get some bonus XP for the effort. (And then Ojaiha and the rest turn hostile.)
