1 of 6: For some XP, find Caulder near a catapult at the SW corner of the area and convince him to let you help. You'll need a cheap warhammer and a high Diplomacy skill (or the race of dwarf, halfling, or gnome) to eventually convince him. If you need a warhammer, you can buy one at the Gallaway Trade Depot in the Targos area.
2 of 6: More XP-getting opportunities involve the three groups of soldiers who are training around the central "tooth circle" structure. For the two groups led by drill sergeants, talk to the sergeants and criticize their training techniques or offer a blessing (if you talk to them with a cleric). For the weapon instructor, have a fighter, barbarian, ranger, or paladin talk to him and then break the keg.
3 of 6: Talk to Kadence and Gable near the NE corner of the area and agree to take a shot at the smug-looking barrel they've been missing for hours. If one of your characters can shoot the barrel to pieces, you can collect your chosen reward (gold or a longbow) from Gable.
4 of 6: If you have the dead cat from the Docks warehouse that you helped Brogan clear out, you can talk to the three guys around the campfire along the east side of the Palisade area to learn that they're the ones who stole the cat and set him to killing warehouse rats. You can then get some XP by taking the dead cat to Firtha Kerdos and telling her what the cat burglars did to it.
5 of 6: If you talk to Tabard Mooncalf, who's right near the campfire guys, you can try to bluff him into leaving and letting you take his special shield from the nearby weapons rack. To successfully bluff him, you'll need to talk to him with a rogue, a person with a high Bluff skill, or someone of chaotic alignment.
6 of 6: When you talk to Niles, who's next to Shawford Crale's building, you can either give him some wine like he asks (for a bit of gold), or you can badger him into sobering up and returning to his post (which is better, since he'll then be able to help out in the final goblin battles).
