Jade Empire Hints

Kia Min

  • 1 of 13: You can first get this quest during the "Return to Master Li" task in the "A Master's Teachings" main quest.
  • 2 of 13: To get the quest, either talk to Kia Min herself near Master Li's quarters, or talk to Smiling Mountain about beating Kia's new record for multiple opponents.
  • 3 of 13: Talk to Kia Min until she refers you to Old Ming for a special herb.
  • 4 of 13: Go to the beach east of town where you fought off the main bandit force to find Old Ming.
  • 5 of 13: He'll tell you to go to Fen Do in town and buy some red silk grass from him.
  • 6 of 13: Tell Fen Do you need a medicinal poultice and that Old Ming suggested red silk grass.
  • 7 of 13: Either pay him the full 50 silver for the poultice or try to talk him down to 40 silver.
  • 8 of 13: When you give the poultice to Kia Min and she insists on repaying you, you can earn some Open Palm points by saying it cost less than it did or that she doesn't need to repay you.
  • 9 of 13: NOTE: If you'd rather have Closed Fist points (or spend less money), buy the bearded tongue grass poultice and tell her it cost 50 silver.
  • 10 of 13: The last segment of this quest is to face Smiling Mountain's challenge, so go talk to him about that.
  • 11 of 13: Ask about Kia Min and say that you want to challenge her record.
  • 12 of 13: You'll have to defeat Kia Min and four other students in a fight in the arena.
  • 13 of 13: If you can, you'll get 100 silver and the Alloyed Body technique, which gives +5 to both health and focus.
