What can I do at the Hells Realm shrine?
1 of 16: The Hells Realm shrine is located in the steam tunnels. Consult your map for the exact location.
2 of 16: The Lama said a purifying heat would burn away their sin.
3 of 16: The steam tunnels are here to provide heat.
4 of 16: And the monk tending the greenhouse suggested that the position of the doors down here control the flow of the heat.
5 of 16: You need to close the doors so the heat of two of the steam pits is directed only to the shrine -- all other paths between the pits and the exits from the tunnels should be blocked.
6 of 16: Use the levers in front of the doors to move the doors from one path to another. One tunnel at each junction will always be blocked.
7 of 16: You will need to connect the middle and right steam pits to the shrine.
8 of 16: The exact solution depends on what else you've done in the vents. I'll try to explain one method in the following hints -- skip steps that you appear to have already done.
9 of 16: Generally speaking, your first task is to make a clear path between the middle and right pits. You will then want to enter the shrine from the left of the two possible entrances -- close off the right one.
10 of 16: First, make sure this path to the shrine (the one via the junction denoted by three circles) is clear.
11 of 16: Then, block the path between the left and middle pits at the junction marked by two overlapping circles.
12 of 16: Then, open the path from the two-diamonds junction to the two-circles junction. You should have already opened that tunnel in the other direction in the previous step.
13 of 16: Connect the middle and right pits using the lever at the shell junction.
14 of 16: Close off the path to the rightmost exit from the tunnels by pulling the lever at the hat junction, if it is not already closed.
15 of 16: Go back to the shrine, via the two-diamonds junction. In opening the path back to the shrine, you should close off all the necessary doors between the pits and any of the vents out of the tunnels. Arthur will tell you when you've done this correctly.
16 of 16: You will then melt the Hells Realm shrine and get a black stone for your efforts.
